Our Policies at Deer Ridge Bed and Breakfast

Our country B&B in southeastern Ohio is a clean, comfortable, and safe lodging alternative to hotels in Athens County near Hocking Hills. When planning your stay with us, please review the following information for our pet friendly policies, cleaning procedures, cancellations, deposits, and more.

Children:

The Bed and Breakfast is set up as a destination for adults; however, we do allow children. Due to safety standards, only children 10 years and older are welcome. They must be supervised at all times and guardians are responsible for any loss or damage incurred by them.  Please note ages on reservation form. We do not provide childcare of any kind. All children are required to be well-behaved and respectful of other guests. There are a few exceptions to the above policy.  Please call us if you have any questions.

Pet Policy:

As of September 3rd, 2022 we can no longer accept pets. 

Smoking, Vaping, and Candles:

We are a non-smoking facility, including vaping. We do not allow candles. We ask that all guests smoke or vape outdoors no closer than 50 ft in accordance with the State of Ohio’s smoking policies.  Any smoking or vaping inside the Bed and Breakfast will result in an immediate request to leave our inn, forfeiting your deposits and an additional cleaning fee of $175 will be charged to your account.  

Covid-19 Update:

The lodging industry has a long-standing commitment to cleanliness and safety. During this public health crisis, these practices have been enhanced for the safety of our guests and staff.

Deer Ridge Bed and Breakfast is currently following the Safe Stay guidelines established by the American Hotel and Lodging Association (AHLA) during this reopening phase of the economy. ( Please refer to the Safe Stay website for further information.

Stay Safe was created in accordance with guidance issued by public health authorities, including the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC). It is anticipated that these guidelines and protocols will evolve based on the recommendations of public health authorities and must be done in compliance with any federal, state and local laws.

 

Cancellation Policy: 

We are a small inn and cancellations and changes made to arrival and departure dates affect us significantly. Therefore, we adhere to a strict policy. We strongly recommend travel insurance for large gatherings. In light of these unprecedented times, these policies maybe subject to change, but all efforts will be made to accommodate your reservation. 

If the owners or government municipalities mandate closure, we will offer a full refund for guests with reservations within 7 days of arrival. Otherwise standard cancellation policies apply or rooms can be rebooked for a later date. 

Fifty percent of the payment will be taken to secure a reservation. The balance will be automatically charged 14 days prior to arrival. The final deposit includes all taxes, fees and add-ons. 

If you cancel 14 days or more prior to your scheduled visit, your deposit will be fully refunded minus a $35 cancellation fee per room including add-ons 

If the cancellation is less than 14 days prior to your scheduled visit you will be charged for your entire stay (and any packages or add-ons reserved) unless we can re-book your lodging. We do accept walk-in’s if space is available and policies apply. 

If we can rebook your room, we will refund any nights we are able to rebook minus a $35 cancellation fees and any add-ons or packages reserved. 

Since we have reserved the room, foregoing other reservations and made preparations for our guest’s arrival, personal conditions prompting a cancellation such as sickness or isolation due to sickness, job changes, funerals, event cancellation and the like within 14 days of arrival, (though we sympathize with your situation), are the responsibility of the guest. To avoid loss, reservations made be rescheduled within six months to a day of equal or lesser value. We do not refund the difference for lesser days. 

For parties of three to five rooms traveling together, or for holidays and special events at the inn or in the area, the cancellation policy is 30 days. Certain packages and promotions may have different policies that apply. Gift certificate recipients are subject to the same cancellation policies. 

A credit card is required to secure a reservation. If you do not have access to a credit card, pease call 937-974-3215 – 30 or more days prior to arrival, so alternate payment methods may be discussed. Prices are subject to change. Please contact us if you need more information regarding our cancellation policy for special event weekends and holidays. Payments may be made by cash, Traveler’s Checks, Visa, Master Card, American Express, and Discover`. 

Winter Weather Cancellation Policy: 

Our Winter Weather Guarantee is if the National Weather Service issues a warning of severe weather (Level 2 to 3) in Athens county, the town you reside in, or on the direct route between your home and Deer Ridge, you can cancel your travel plans due to the weather conditions on the day of check-in, and you will not be charged for the reservation as long as you rebook your reservation within the next 4 months. Booking must be made within 3 days of cancellation.
